This is the ice cream which I would crave for even when I caught a bad cold...



j.p.licks Homemade Ice Cream is not the number one shop in town, but for sure it is in the top 5. Because there's a store near where I live and because their ice cream is so tasteful, I've become a loyal customer to this little ice cream shop in downtown area.



There are many branches in town, and the one near where I live is on Newbury. If you know Boston well, you would know Newbury is the street full of brand shops and can spend a whole day there shopping. There are many restaurants and cafe on Newbury.

I've passed by this ice cream shop many times but had no mood to try it out. Until one day when I was really craving for fresh ice creams over the bucket ones sold in supermarket, I dragged my friend to go to j.p.licks with me.



In the shop



There are two sitting areas. One is the sofa area which is near the wall that has drawn two large cows on it. Feels like we are sitting in a field or something :P The other sitting area is stools and a few tables in the middle.



First thing you see on the menu is the type of food they serve in the shop. They are selling ice cream (scoops), to go, cold drinks, and cakes..etc



Then the second blackboard shows ice cream flavors. Besides ice cream, they also have sorbet and soft yogurt..etc.



My friend ordered a small Sundae, you can pick any toppings



Choco & M&M Chocolates, looks really rich and sweet right? It is very tasteful and won't feel "too much" on the chocolates. Vanilla ice cream is very delicious, just that this sundae is a bit too sweet... So unless you have sweet tooth, maybe you should just try a small small size for tasting.



I tried the OREO flavor, kiddie size

I was curious why this OREO flavor is kinda blackish purple color when my friend brought it to me. Isn't it suppose to be vanilla ice cream with oreo cookie in it? Perhaps they have mixed and blend OREO cookies in the ice cream...



I was right! This is sooooo good! Though it's blackish purple, does not have the chocolate sweetness but OREO cookie's abundant cookie flavor. Soft, Rich, Creamy, not too sweet, SO GOOD! It's the best OREO flavor ice cream i've ever had!


Because OREO flavor is very delicious and unforgettable, now I dare to try some 'interesting' flavors.

There's one flavor called Cow Tracks in the menu, I wonder what that is? We asked the lady at the shop, and she said it's Vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks and peanut butter cups... Sounds interesting!



We ordered a small size, this is much much bigger than kiddie size! The lady is too generous~~~ I was joking to my friend that she must like me A LOT (lol). This is more like a medium size to me...



Vanilla ice cream, needless to say, great!



If you don't know what peanut butter cup is, you can go to convenient store or supermarket to buy one to try (Reese's). It's chocolate with peanut butter inside, imagine that! Used to be one of my favorite chocolate type~ Quite special to have it with the ice cream.

Because of peanut butter cup, overall Cow Tracks is very interesting and full of flavor. But I think this is too much and too sweet for me. Next time I would just grab a kiddie size for tasting.

Now I am still craving for the OREO ice cream... I'd wish I have more time in Boston to try every flavor in the store.
